Using someone's code and editing for learning is ok but don't release it and say that you did it yourself. Always give credits when you use other's code.

I didnt expected this I hope you learn and soon make your own codes, even if they are simple. Originality is the key , is hard to find an original idea but if you get it and do it, your mod will have a big chance of being a sucess.
