now its getting ridiculous
Quote:Shortly after confirming that Modern Warfare 3 will be released for Wii, Activision confirmed that the newest installment in the popular Call of Duty line will also be released for Nintendo DS. Dan Amrich announced that n-Space will be developing the DS version of the game. This comes as welcome news, since it was n-Space which was tasked with developing Black Ops, Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare: Mobilized, and World at War for Nintendo DS as well. All that experience should result in a great production.
There still isnt a lot of information about how the DS version of Modern Warfare 3 will look and feel in contrast to the other versions of the game, but one way to get an idea is to look at the previous games in the series which were released for DS. The other developers tasked with developing Modern Warfare 3 for other platforms include Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer, and Treyarch. The other platforms will include PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and of course Wii.
Modern Warfare 3 is the eighth Call of Duty installment, and will reflect the same first-person shooter multiplayer format as the other Modern Warfare games. A couple of noteworthy features include a new survival mode and some changes in the killstreak reward system. What will the survival mode be like? Think back to the Nazi Zombies mode in Call of Duty: World at War. The new survival mode will be even tougher though, since the bots will no longer spawn in pre-determined locations. Instead, the enemies will spawn with tactical reference to player locations, making the waves of attackers even harder to beat.
It comes as a relief to many gamers that the killstreak reward system is getting revamped. The notorious Commando Perk will no longer be part of the game, and other perks are getting demoted as well. Player skill will now be more important than ever. Players will be able to enjoy quick scoping again, a feature which was removed from Black Ops. The game will include familiar characters like Captain John Soap MacTavish, Captain John Price, and Nikolai, but players will also be introduced to new characters like Derek Frost Westbrook, Sandman, Marcus Burns, and Yuri. The action will span from America to Europe to exotic terrain like Dubai and Somalia.
The release date for Modern Warfare 3 for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC is November 8, 2011. No release date has been announced yet for Nintendo DS or Wii, but it seems reasonable to expect the release to be simultaneous.
