Doesn't do anything to the server, it just removes the HUD on the players screens

I am confused by this.

If applied does the server show in the server lists as hardcore, or is this just the age-old method of modifying normal-mode to PLAY like hardcore?

actually its the old mode.
in mw3 u can not change the killcam or FF options while u r using HC on so u have to do it via normal mode.
and u r right its the old school but,I think there is no other way to do such thing(ff & kc on hc) for now.
and thats a NO.ur server will be shown as normal mode in server list.

idk,maybe yes.but only if server addon supports the servers game version

I understand, but I DONT KNOW HOW.
you can make a miniplugin to apply fast restart after map change? only one time i dont want a loop

just add this code on the Hexman's Source , and Compile It , No big deal.
