To come back to my post. I bought a polish key for about 35 dollar. It was inclusive nuketown 2025. I installed english language files and could play single- and multiplayer in english. I played SP for about a half hour and multiplayer for about a hour. No problems.

You don't need a VPN to activate the Polish key.
-- But from what I get, Steam only installs it in Polish, and after every patch you need to re-apply the English language files (and thus you need a source for the current ones etc)
A lot like how Russian BF3 works, but with BF3, after every update you need a tiny 1mb to 5mb third party patch to get your game English (besides the big one time download) -- Steam though might overwrite the English files with Polish ones, so it could be gigabytes of patching every time.
I also read about people having issues with the English SP mode. Just random google research though.

So while I'm fine with my RU BF3, I'm still wary of touching PL BO2.

I could activate the key on steam without VPN and I can play without VPN. The game was automaticly set to english but I had to download 2,5gb english files. After that I could play singleplayer and multiplayer in english with no problems.
