Commputer Identifying Network
#1
Hey Guys,

Whenever I start up my computer, It takes a really long time to identify the network maybe about 5 - 10 minutes. And the thing that really confuses me is that I'm not using wireless, I am using a LAN Cable which is plugged into my router. During the time in which it is identify I am unable to use programs such as Firefox and steam etc, because they require the internet. Can anybody help me so that it either can identify the network faster or even just connect to the internet as soon as I turn on my computer.

Thanks

download hijackthis and run it (analyze the log file on the homepage)
download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and run a full deep scan.
hit win key + R and type in msconfig -> systemstart and remove all marks from programs that you definitely dont know (google for *.exe that you dont know before you unmark them)
get a decent antivir (mse is enough) and run a full deep scan too

Check your IP once you have one, write all settings down and switch to static IP/gateway/router.
Also everything d0h! said.
