Have you tried it in hardcore mode? Because it removes many stuff from the screen.

Removed the whole HudElem all was left was Max HP, cash, credits and shop texts and it would still disappear. What's funny is that if I look "up" in the air where the are little to no "models" or players the HUD would come back... it's something like that. It's weird....
