[News] Plugins are Mods

Ok here I will clarify that plugins used with the Server Addon by @Nukem are actually mods so everyone finally understands.

Note: The expression "Mods" in this thread is used as a short form of Modification. It's not about moderators.

Here we have a quote from wikipedia

Add-on

An add-on or addon is a (usually small) mod which adds to the original game's content. In most cases, an addon will add one particular element to a game, such as a new weapon in a shooting game or a new vehicle or track in a racing game, without changing any existing content. Many games are flexible and allow this, however that is not always the case. Some addons may have to replace in game content, due to the nature of the game engine, though this is not common. It may be the case, for example, that in a game which does not give a player the option to choose their character, modders wishing to add another player model will simply have to overwrite the old one.

So @Nukem's Server Addon itself is already a mod, it adds logging, custom commands and the ability to load plugins.

Term "Modding":
Another quote of wikipedia

Modding is a slang expression that is derived from the verb "modify". Modding refers to the act of modifying a piece of hardware or software or anything else for that matter, to perform a function not originally conceived or intended by the designer. [...]

Conclusion:
Plugins as well as the Server Addon itself modify software, they modify the so called Modern Warfare 3 Dedicated Server by Infinity Ward (also sometimes referred to iw5mp_server, "mw3 dedi" or "mw3 server") therefore creating plugins is actually modding.
