That did it. I had downloaded the right file (mw3_warn_support) but
wasn't working until I uploaded it again. Life is good.
THANK YOU!!!
Will this warn using client id too? Some players purposely use complicated
names to make it difficult to warn or kick. Can't go wrong with client ID.
Else, will just have to remember that the "player name" abreviations
must are for the "end" of the player name. So for me, 5niper, I can't use
5, 5ni, 5nip... has to be iper, or per; has to include ending, right?
Glad it works now. You should be able to use either the starting oder ending of the name. Client ID doesn't work but I can implement it.
OK. Just tried it again, if the name includes clan tags, ie [RAW] 5niper,
you have to use [RAW] as the beginning of the name. Got it. Thanks.
Yes, would be awesome to include client id. Would eliminate the problem with
foreign players using characters what we can't easily reproduce on our English
keyboards. Have had to use the game's vote kick for that.
One question though, out of curiosity, if there are several players with similar names,
like in the event of players from the same clan (name prefix), or players
named A5niper, B5niper, Now I'd have to type in the whole name, right? Or does
it warn if I use 5niper for the playername, that there are too many "like" names?
This is how BlackTomato Mod works, which we use on our Black Ops servers.
That mod allows you to configure the commands. Like using !r <playername>
to warn for running, !l to warn for language, etc.
And would be awesome if you only need enough consecutive characters of the
player's name, to make it unique, and would not matter if it was in the beginning,
middle, or end. For example, for 5niper, if we could use nip, or 5ni, or per.
Thanks for all your patience and support. I really appreciate it.
