[Solved] Need help on Maya for Custom weapon

I have strange problem. No mather what i do my gun is in this direction

Its cod4, but its same for making custom weapons for BO.

I add all Tags for joints and gun is always in that position. Angry

Both games use same system for view model animation. And i need help on MAYA. Also i dont see cod4 section...

upload the maya file that might help,
otherwise extract a weapon useing toms xmodelutilts and remove the mesh and put your weapon in then re bind , thats probs what your not doing binding the mesh to the bones :/ ether way you have not giveing enough info on what you did/didnt do . uploading the file will help if your to noob and dont know what your doing/talking about , im happy to help just letting you know how to get it from us Smile

Here is what i found and its definetly cousing this problem.

I have problem with joints. Some of them are hiden and i cant find the proper way to delete them. Its so anying. Here is what i have in my Outliner

Tag "Nisan" and tag "Gun" are not supposed to be there... They are included in xmodel, but i cant find them in Maya. They are somehow hidden.
Im not Maya expert. I am cod mapper and this is my second gun im trying to make.Im making my first mod after i made more then 17 mp maps. First gun i created succsefully with all atachments. Now im stuck with this :/

ok first are you still useing the xmodel tool by dielogic?, if so scrap it ! no offence to the guy who made it ,it was great to have when noone else would step up and do something better however that time has come and so i point you here http://www.itsmods.com/forum/Thread-Prev...Utils.html

please download this and begin again Smile you will find it much better and it works for everythig , now after you have done that you will need to bind the rig to the defmesh ie the gun there are tuts for this on youtube ill try to find them for you .
or if your just moveing guns from one game to another you can just use the bind.mel script made by toms xmodel tool.

watch the custom weapons in maya videos they should help you

if after all this you still fail you can send me the weapon / textures and i will use them to make a tut on getting a weapon ingame from scratch rigging,binding,exporting,importing,setup a rig for anims,make a simple anim,export,import and wins, all the things needed to have a truly custom weapon ingame , ether ways hope it works out for you

I fix this problem. I didnt asign those two meshes to any joints. They dont need any joint tags for anymated stuff in game, but still i needed to asign two meshes to j_gun tags (i didnt do that in my first weapon and gun works fine lol).
Thanks for help and for that link with tutorials. Also thaks for point me to that tool. Im still using old methods Big Grin
Now that is history.
Here is my custom weapon. Serbian "Zastava M21 automatic" with all atachmenst (no anoying GL in my mod Big Grin )
