It doesn't change the fact that you don't make bigger advanced mods, but small ones.
Take my advice, try making something very big and awesome, even if it takes a year to make it.
And how? Well, aim for something which no one has ever made before, or something which people call "impossible", and you'll end up with something exclusive fun mod, which maybe didn't take that long to do.
And if you ever get bored, just hand it over to a friend to continue on it.
