[Release] Language Change Black Ops

If you preloaded the russian retail version of 1C (multi language support), then change the language using the registry.

1. Go To Run
2. Set Regedit
3. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
4. Software / Activision / Call of duty Black ops
5. change language to ENU RUS

I hope this works bro >< a friend just gave me a russian cd key and he borrowed me de black ops dvd original and steam downloaded me the rus ver xD

of course it works, i run a rus copy with english translated files without any problems

Should you make it "read only" after you've replaced the files? So Steam doesn't fuck it up at a patch?

U can do this a little bit easier.

U can choose which language u want.
Download one of the packs, copy the downloaded Winrar archive in ur "Steamapps" folder. (Steam must be off!!!)
Right klick on the Winrar archive and choose "extract here", now the language files will be extractet automaticly. There should pop up a message which asks u to overwrite existing files, answer this with yes. After all files are copied start Steam. Steam is now verifying data. Maybe it downloads a few files, but this should take only a few minutes. After its finished u have ur BO in that language u want!

Hi there, this is my first post here
I would like to thank to helping me to change language from Polish to English. Everything went smooth Unfortunately, I have a problem. After changing the language I can't play single missions, which are not in chronological order. I mean - some of the sounds in missions disappear and info about time and localization in the beginning of the mission does not show up. It happens only when I play for example play the first mission, I finish it (everything is ok) and than, I skip do the 4th mission for example. Any suggestions how to deal with this issue? When I play missions in original order (1st, 2nd, 3rd) everything is normal. It only happens when I play missions not in original order (1st, 5th) I wold be grateful for help and dome suggestions. Sorry for my language. I'm polish and my English is not perfect

Will the game keep the english files up to date? Or will it overwrite with a russian file when updated? Also, if you verify your ingame cache you will have to do everything again?
